5 Acres for your Horses & Heavenly Views of Mountains, Vineyards & Orchards for You

The first thing everyone notices is the view.  It wraps ¾ around the house.  Snow in winter, rainbows late spring, fog creeping out of the valley, the red tinge on the trees as the sun rises to the singing of the birds.  It’s a quiet location, even with the golf course.

I live in the burgeoning wine country.  There are vineyards along with orchards.  You find horses & mules, sometimes goats, on quiet properties.

Shopping areas are relatively near.  Boise has so much variety & a great mall.  Beyond a ways is the discount mall.  Closer, Nampa has recently built The Marketplace with shops & restaurants, even a Costco.

My property is versatile.  I have horses (you can have cattle), a shelter and barn.  One section of their land can be closed off with a gate.  There is a large, fenced back yard containing a nice sized garden shed.  Shade trees effectively cool the eastern side of the house & provide cool areas throughout the property.  Evergreens add color all year & are great escapes for the quail, pheasant and other visitors.

I have a personal grove with sweet apples that ripen at different times and several varieties of pears.  Peaches are making a comeback.  There are two English walnut trees that are good producers and another starting.

About 3 –4 years ago, a 50-year roof was put on along with new decking.  The back patio cover is designed to allow light through.

Inside the house, all appliances & most of the lights were replaced.  Lighting was added in a number of areas.  The kitchen, 3 baths & utility room were remodeled.  Laminate floors add a new dimension.  French doors let light flow through the house while the lace curtains maintain privacy.  A Soapstone wood stove is used to heat the house & radiant heat provides warmth through the night & makes restarting easy, saving paper.  Insulation was added in the attic.  The wood stove, added insulation as well as the wind generator & tracking solar panel cut the power usage considerably.

The basement wood stove will take the chill off the entire house.  Glass blocks allow light in & maintain privacy.  The basement is versatile in that it is so large, it could be a game room, family room or entertainment area.  The under-stair storage area could be changed into a wet bar for either youth or adult parties.
